Beginner Rigid Heddle Weaving
Advanced Floor Loom Weaving

The Hartford Artisans Weaving Center offers a wide selection of weaving classes using various looms and/or weaving techniques. Our classes promote and teach the craft of hand-weaving, and help fund our Artisan program. Whether you are new to weaving, or looking to expand your expertise, we would love to have you join us at the Weaving Center. Our expert instructors, students, volunteers, staff and artisans of all abilities are united by an appreciation of this ancient craft.

The following classes are scheduled regularly:
- 9 week Floor Loom weaving classes from Beginner to Beyond Beginner to Advanced level. Classes begin in September, January and late March.
- Beginner Rigid Heddle classes along with a selection of Continuing Rigid Heddle classes. Class sessions are usually offered September through June.

Please note: Our Floor Loom class program begins each September with our Fall classes. Students who register for our Beginner, Beyond Beginner or Intermediate/Advanced Fall Floor Loom class and choose to continue, will receive priority registration for additional Floor Loom classes within that year. This format allows a student to continue to build their skills and confidence in weaving.

In addition to our floor and rigid heddle loom classes, we add new weaving classes throughout the year. These include Tapestry weaving, Inkle weaving, Basket weaving and more!

We also host in-depth workshops on special topics in fiber arts throughout the Summer.

All of our current classes and workshops are listed on this website. All registration is through this website, we do not accept mailed in registrations or registration in advance.
