Twill Explorations: Four Shaft Twill, a Virtual Class
SKU 0521 Tw1
Join instructor Jill Staubitz for this virtual class covering Twill basics!
Understanding twills is fundamental to weavers of all levels. This class is a great way for the newer weaver to get comfortable with twill basics. Participants will learn how to read a weaving draft and then have the opportunity to weave a gamp. We will discuss the foundation for weaving a twill and what tie ups are used. Several threading and treadling variations will be introduced through analyzing drawdowns. A twill draft will be included with the lesson materials. Weavers are invited to prepare their looms in advance and can weave along during discussion, or choose to weave the gamp after class. The sampler will make a great wall hanging, as well as provide reference for further studies. Once you have registered for the class, you will receive instructions on how to set up the gamp. You will also be sent the Zoom meeting details and information on how to prepare for class.
*Note: This class is perfect for newer weavers or weavers that aren’t familiar with twill, but have woven on a four shaft loom.
