Successful Color and Weave Workshop
This past August, the weaving center hosted a special three day workshop, taught by respected Colorado weaver, Susan Wilson. Despite Hurricane Irene, 21 participants enjoyed the program entitled "Surprise! Color-and-Weave Effects." We learned about the magic of color-and-weave effects in a round-robin format. All participants brought home samples of traditional 4-shaft and 8-shaft color-and-weave effects in twill, gingham and houndstooth checks, log cabin, Scottish district checks and multiple block weaves. With the disruption of travel from the hurricane, Susan spent an additional day at the weaving center.
Weaving Classes:
Fran Curran teaches weaving at the Hartford Artisans Weaving Center on Woodland St. in Hartford. The next session will start on Monday, January 9th, 2012.
